Recently, China’s new industrial sectors are increasing the competitiveness through a growth path different from its traditional main industry. China supports aggressively the development of new technologies and the growth of new industries, and is strengthening preparations for the fourth industrial revolution as it seeks to become a strong country in manufacturing.
China’s new industries have high growth potential in terms of fostering distinct areas at the local government level. In addition to the active efforts of the central government, Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou-Shenzhen are China’s three major industrial regions, and it is worth noting that specialization policies are actively pursued in each of these regions.
The promotion of complementary and competitive cooperation with China has become a very important challenge for the continued development of our new industries. In addition, our new industries need to strengthen the capabilities both creativity and new technologies in order to strengthen cooperation with China.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the development conditions of three key regions of new industries in China as part of strengthening competitiveness of new projects and strengthening growth capabilities, and to seek advanced new industry cooperation between Korea and China. As the three key regions are expected to strengthen their competitiveness with their own capabilities while leading the growth of new industries in China, we need to understand the characteristics and differentiation of the key regions.
This report consists of the following. This study consists of the comprehensive section and individual economic blocs, and is organized to compare the blocs from a overall perspective while enhancing the characteristics of the three blocs.
The comprehensive section presents ① the differences in distribution of new industries among blocs, ② industrial strengths, ③ policies, ④ characteristics of major companies, and sources of competitiveness. ⑤ cooperation direction. Through these comprehensive comparisons, we can understand promising industries in each blocs, discriminatory characteristics, and so on.
Individual economic blocs sections are analysed in the form of independent reports, but are structured to ensure consistency and uniformity of the analysis of each bloc. First, the current status of industrial structure and major new industries by each bloc is analyzed, and then the position of new industries in China and within the bloc is analyzed. In addition, it identifies and compares the characteristics of new industries and new industry policies and characteristics by economic sector.
We will identify major sources of growth for new industries by economic bloc and analyze the development background of new industries in depth through mutual comparison. The analysis and comparison of these growth sources are expected to provide useful implications for promoting the development of new industries in Korea. Finally, considering the possibility of future development of new industries in Korea and China, Korea-China industrial cooperation direction and strategies against China will be explored.
