This study sought to find examples of regionally linked education programs developed and operated in leading districts in the high school credit system and analyze their characteristics. In order to achieve this objective, cases of regionally linked education programs in three districts were analyzed based on the contents and literature that the researcher experienced while participating in consulting for the leading districts in the high school credit system. The implications that can be suggested for developing and operating regional-linked educational programs in the future through this study are as follows. First, it is necessary to utilize various local resources inside and outside the district to develop and operate regionally linked education programs in the leading district. Second, there is a need for interest and support for regionally-linked education programs from metropolitan/provincial offices of education and regional offices of education. Third, cooperation and communication with city/provincial offices of education and regional offices of education, local governments and nearby universities are necessary.
