This study aims to develop a test that can comprehensively measure play flow for children aged three-five years to understand play flow in early childhood education and revitalize play flow-related studies. The participants were 390 young children in public kindergartens in G Metropolitan City and J, aged three to five years. Based on the results, through content validity verification and exploratory factor analysis, 37 items were developed. These included seven items on play challenge, eight items focusing on concentration, seven items on control of play, nine items on goals and process, three items on motivation and emotion, and three items on the altered sense of time. Furthermore, based validity verification of the young children’s play flow test developed in this study, it was confirmed that the item quality, item discrimination, construct validity, concurrent validity, inter-item consistency, and test-retest reliability were suitable. In other words, it was verified that the young children"s play flow test developed in this study was a valid and reliable tool.
