It is necessary to intervene in mild cognitive impairment(MCI) discriminately. Accordingly, the performance profiles by cognitive-communication tasks should be suggested for intervention in MCI. Fifty-two single- and multiple-domain amnestic MCI(sd-aMCI 28, md-aMCI 24) and thirty control subjects performed 16 subtasks for the 5 cognitive-communication domains. The main findings were as follows. Firstly, three groups had significant differences in performances of most cognitive-communication tasks. Secondly, several communication tasks(confrontation naming, word fluency, discourse) were significantly correlated with most cognitive tasks in two MCI groups. Thirdly, cognitive tasks including working memory and problem solving were found to be the best predictors of communication in sd-aMCI group. Performances of cognition like reasoning and executive function were strong predictors of communication in md-aMCI group. Current study provides the evidence-based information to support cognitive-communication intervention in MCI. These results also can contribute to increase the efficacy of intervention.
