This study attempted to analysis the differences of organizational commitment by hairdressing business workers' personal characteristics and determined the effects of their job characteristics on organizational commitment as organizational performance for beauty salon. And it aimed to prepare efficient management plans in order to solve the management problems of hairdressing business, focusing their job characteristics from aspects of human resource administration. For empirical analysis, a questionnaire survey was conducted among beauty salon employees in Gyeongsangnam-do, and the collected data were analyzed. The results found the following: First, the organizational commitment by hairdressing business workers' personal characteristics was high in the following groups: ‘age 40 or older’, ‘high school graduates’, ‘married’ abd 'director'. And task significance, task identity, and autonomy of job characteristics had an effect on organizational commitment. In fact, compared to other factors, autonomy revealed the greatest influence on job satisfaction. The study results show that human resource management that comprehensively considers personal characteristics as well as job characteristics is essential in improving business performances by increasing employees’ organizational commitment in the hairdressing business.
