Purpose This paper presents an evaluation model and evaluation method, which are supplier selection decisions that impact competitive advantage and profit increase for the survival of traditional Korean medical device manufacturer.
Methods Evaluation factors for supplier selection were classified into three stages. Sub-factors were specifically set for each high-level factor and divided into 14 detailed sub-factors, and the relative importance and priority of each evaluation factor was derived using AHP analysis.
Results According to the analysis results on the importance of traditional Korean medical device supplier selection factors, the product factor was considered more important than the company factor in the higher factors. It was confirmed that the importance and priority of supplier selection factors were recognized differently according to the tasks of each department of the traditional Korean medical device manufacturer.
Conclusion It is of great importance to select a suitable supplier to guarantee the competitiveness of a traditional Korean medical device manufacturer.
