For 15 years from the enactment of the Social Enterprise Promotion Act in 2007, the number of certified social enterprises has been on a steady rise to 3,794, and awareness of social enterprises has also been recognized as more important. On the other hand, social enterprises still have fewer companies than general enterprises and are very small in terms of size, making it difficult to secure sustainability with a competitive advantage in the market of perfect competition. Therefore, this study attempted to propose a business model of Korean social enterprises by grasping the current status of Korean social enterprises over the past 15 years and examining existing research on existing business models and business models of social enterprises. To this end, we proposed a model that can review the business model and performance of social enterprises by reviewing the business model canvas of business model research, value proposition, value creation, and value acquisition, and existing research on social entrepreneurship. On top of that, when the government's support policy is to add investment-type support policies for technology development and human resource development to strengthen social enterprises' competitiveness, Korean social enterprises will be able to strengthen their market competitive sustainable business model.
