This paper examined the combination of tense prefinal endings ‘-eoss(었)-‘ and ‘-kess-(겠)’ with the connective endings ‘-eoseo(어서)’, ‘-(eu)lsurok(을수록)’, ‘-(eu)ryeogo’, ‘-Ja(자)’. Since these connective endings represent simultaneous and sequential relationships, ‘-eoss(었)’ and ‘-kess-(겠)’ tense prefinal endings cannot be combined in the preceding clause. However, recently there has been an example of a combination of these connecting endings and tense prefinal endings of ‘-eoss(었)’ and ‘-kess-(겠)’. In other words, tense constraints on these connective endings are relaxed. When the ‘-kess-(겠)’ tense prefinal endings is combined with these connective endings, the speaker’s attitudeof of conjecture and intention appears in the preceding clause. Also, When the tense prefinal endings‘-eoss(었)’is not combined with these connective endings, it is affected by the tense of the later sentence, but when the tense prefinal ending‘-eoss(었)’ is combined with these connective endings, it represents the past based on the time of speech. The reason for combining ‘-eoss(었)’ and ‘-kess-(겠)’ with connectives is to indicate an event relative to the time of utterance and is a strategy to indicate the speaker’s subjective attitude.
