With the growing societal appetite for cultural enjoyment, there is also an increasing interest in museums. In addition, the need for and importance of participatory experiences in exhibitions continues to be discussed as the awareness of those seeking such experiences grows. In this context, I want to suggest the direction and characteristics of experience that should be considered in organizing and directing the visitor experience at future museum exhibitions. And to empirically establish the impact of the characteristics of the experience on the visitor’s intention of revisiting the museum. To this end, the literature on museum exhibitions, concepts, characteristics of experience and revisiting was reviewed. The museum experience was divided into educational, interesting and immersive characteristics. The Museum of Performing Arts, which provides visitors with various experiences, was chosen to analyze the characteristics of exhibition experiences. Next, research models and hypotheses were established and empirical analysis was conducted based on the theoretical background, prior research, and exhibition experience analysis. The empirical analysis was conducted on the results of a survey of 176 visitors at the Museum of Performing Arts. The results showed that interest and immersion had a positive effect on the intention of revisiting, and that interest had a stronger effect. It is thus understood that visitors wish to feel more joy and fun when they visit an exhibition. Therefore, using interesting elements and immersive media for educational functions when planning experiences at exhibitions will have a positive effect on the intention of visitors to revisit the museum. The findings are meaningful in that they are not limited to the Museum of Performing Arts but can also be used to improve the visitor experience in other museums.
