The purpose of this study is to survey the original form of lecture hall of Sosu Seowon, the beginning of a private school during the Joseon Dynasty, by advancing beyond traditional 2D-based analyses and incorporating a 3D modeling program alongside with the accumulated database.
Through this research, new findings were revealed in areas such as the elevation, floor plan, narrow wooden floor, and hwalju, expanding on what previous studies had not uncovered. By utilizing the established DB, this study identified restoration forms and their period-specific changes, which were not detected in earlier research. Moreover, by integrating 3D analysis with the DB, the study provided rationally structured restoration estimates, enabling a deeper understanding that would not have been possible through 2D methods alone.
