This study aims to construct a morphological annotated corpus of Manzhou Shilu and analyze its linguistic characteristics and historical context within the Manchu language. By means of preprocessing and morphological analysis of the Manzhou Shilu text, we examined the frequency of key content words and function words, with a particular focus on the temporal frequency shifts associated with significant figures and countries related to Nurhaci. For example, there is a notable increase in the terms daiming(Ming) and solho(Joseon) After the Battle of Sarhū, the text reveals the conflicts with Ming and Joseon that were occurring at the time. Additionally, analyzing the frequency changes in Nurhaci’s titles and key figures provides insight into the political transformations that were occurring within Manchu society. This study highlights the utility of the Manzhou Shilu corpus as a foundational resource for research in Manchu linguistics and East Asian historical studies.
