In Pannenberg, God is presenting himself in history. The history that Pannenberg refers to is a history as a universal history that anyone can access. But what is known throughout history is tentative and partial. This paper aims to study the understanding of revelations in the reciprocity between the present and the future. First, it begins with the understanding of ‘History as a place of revelation’ emphasized by Pannenberg. As a history, it can be said that revelation understanding is the most basic foundation of Pannenberg’s revelation understanding. Second, the study of the resurrection and revelation of Jesus Christ. If Pannenberg’s understanding of revelation is focused solely on universal history, Pannenberg’s understanding of revelation will lose the uniqueness of Christianity. Pannenberg deals with not only the revelatory understanding known as history, but also the revelatory understanding that appeared in Jesus Christ. Through this chapter, we can see what Jesus Christ’s understanding of revelation means for his understanding of revelation as Pannenberg’s history. Third, it deals with ‘a revelation in the reciprocity of the future and the present’. According to Pannenberg, what is known through current history comes from the future. Therefore, the present revelation has a provisional and partial character. However, Pannenberg argues that the finality of revelation has become present due to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This paper examined how Pannenberg resolved this contradiction, what the presentness of the revelation Pannenberg claimed meant, and the relationship between the future and the present.
