This treatise on poetry made a study of the aspects connected
with a femininity and desire which appeared in poetry written by Sea, Jeong-ju. The femininity in his poetry is ver closely connected with desire. His poetries actuated as cause to lead a change of a sense of poetry, changing the femininity into functional femininity, maternal femininity, and mythic femininity and so on.
It is a major standard that the femininity and desire reflects the whole character in his poetries. He suffered a lot of pain in his juvenile life without a manly sex. His desire of poetry was distorted from a reality of femininity which a manly sex IS lacking. The initial poetry written by Sea, Jeong-ju is trending toward a functional femininity and the desire is under a very precarious state. The poetry written in the middle by him is trending toward a maternal femininity, however the desire is less and is growing smaller. The post-poetry written by him is trending toward a mythic femininity, however the desire is regressive. A process to be connected from『Hwasa-jip(Poetry of Flower-snake)』to『Jilmajae Sinhwa(A Myth of Jilmajae)』is such a process of manifestation and vanishing of a desire. This treatise has referred to the formalistic approach, historical approach, and psychological approach. And, This treatise has broken down the old worn-out method to try to understand him through tradition and modernity and newly understood an aesthetic structure of his poetries.
