The early mordem novels frequently show the conflicts between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. This paper studies the aspects and the causes of the conflict from the sociological and psychological views.
The general tendency is that social science has been more active in the study on the conflicts between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law rather than Korean literature has been so far.
"Kaehwa-ki" is a meaningful turning point from a traditional society to a morden one in terms of constitution and consciousness. Considering it is essential condition to consider "Kaehwa-ki" when studying the conflicts between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, this paper studies analyzes conflicts between in-laws from the viewpoinls of sociology and psychology.
This paper analyzes the conflicts between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law from the behaviorism by explicating Korean novels such as rca-9-1 「안의 성」「봉선화」「치악산」「유하우」「홍도화」「두견성」「금국화」「재봉춘」The socio-psychological studies on the conflicts between motherin-law and daughter-in-law can contribute to the understanding of the "Kaehwa-ki" and the restoring of the literary status of "Sinsoseeul".
