The purpose of this study was to research the construction and appearance properties of 38 fashion fabrics in women's
Hanbok.
All the fabrics were made by 100'/0 silk. No patterned solid color fabrics were 17 and patterned design fabrics were 21. Silk filment yarns were used for all fabrics. No twist yarns were used for all warp. No twist yarns, S-twist and Z-twist yarns were used for weft.
The construction of no patterned fabrics were simple plain weave and filling rib weave. The ground weave of patterned fabrics were plain, satin, and doup. The patterned area were expressed by twill weave, plain weave, doup weave, and weft floating.
Measured drape coeffident of the fashion fabrics, for the most part, were high, so their appearance were hard and crisp. Since the most fabrics had low wrinkle resistance, it was hard to keep up good style for wearing. Measured stiffness properties were relatively high, so the most fabrics were not flexible and soft.
