This research is attempted to reveal the characteristics of Jemangsilmoon written by Kwangsa Lee. Arranged characteristics of Jemansilmoon carries are following. Firstly, Kwangsa Lee's Jemangsilmoon is characteristically closer to literary art rather than practical document required for livelihood. Second of all, considering Jemangsilmoon's style of character, Kwangsa Lee regards it as a literary letter of some sort, and the contents of Jemangsilmoon is filled with stories about one's private but usual life. Thirdly, extreme griefs without sense of equipoise are expressed in Kwangsa Lee's Jemangsilmoon documents. Presence of motive about reincarnation in Taoism could also be understood as a metamorphosis of extreme sorrows. Lastly, this document possesses better advanced narrative skills compared to Jemangsilmoon literatures in general. The characteristics presented above in Kwangsa Lee's Jemangsilmon are in accordance with those carried in his Chinese literary work in the first period. Thus, it seems as though Kwangsa Lee's Jemangsilmoon speaks for his literary documents in early period. Moreover, from the philosophical point of view, Kwangsa Lee insists on expressing natural emotions and desires rather than confining them, and he pursues "men with distinctive characteristic traits" rather than "ordinary men with common personalities." The genre of Jemangsilmoon written by Kwangsa Lee clearly shows such viewpoints of his philosophy. In addition, characteristics shown in Kwangsa Lee's Jemangsilmoon present the bearings of the latter among the courses of mannerism and literary art appeared in 18th century when Jemangsilmoon documents were becoming more common. Furthermore, his Jemangsilmoon document shows the directions of the literary history in 18th century where one's personal yet private life is revealed in the entire page.
