Recently the local market size of the application service provider (ASP), an information system, has been growing explosively, In spite of the rapid increase in the number of the companies adopting the ASP service in particular, the theoretical approaches to the ASP itself and the studies on the improvement of its performances has been insignificant. Our study therefore tried the theoretical approaches to the ASP service which attracted a lot of attention in the corporate information system environment at the job sites, and clarified the concepts involved, Particularly, efforts were made to derive the various introduction factors in relation to the companies' construction or conversion of the ASP service, to verify the interrelationship between the factors and the improvement of the operating performance of the information system, and to present the implications thereof.
