The modernization of medium and proliferation of entertainments in the later nineteen twenties transformed everyday experience into a festival. Accordingly foreign popular cultures and the traditional folk one competitively but harmoniously pervaded the reading public. Fashions and entertainments disseminated by nineteenth thirties modern medium contained a strong desire for "ero, gro, and nonsense." What is especially intriguing about the phenomenon is the fact that desire for laugh epitomized by "nonsense" was vented by them as powerfully as aspirations for "ero" and "gro", "Nonsense" was not only combined with "ero" and "gro" but also employed in order to disintegrate "ero" and "gro"
Lee Sang's literary works in the mid nineteen thirties also responded sensitively to the stimulus created by "ero, gro, and nonsense." Lee Sang displayed a festivity of language on the blank pages, keeping an eye on the real festivals exhibited on urban streets. The festival of language engendered by him was co ridicule degenerated festivals composed of "ero, gro, and nonsense" and to resurrect a radical and rebellious festivity. The Angel of Entertainments(興行物天使) published in nineteen thirty one couched his desire to deride with the language of "ero, gro, and nonsense" the "ero, gro, and nonsense" propagated by entertainments.
