When we talk about the ancient history of Korea, and the activity of the ancient Korean society, we normally think of what is now called The Korean peninsula. However, during the Gojoseon period, The Korean nation lived on the territory of what we now know as Manchuria, as well as on The Korean peninsula, and the two kingdoms of Buyeo and Goguryeo shared similar territories. The kingdoms of Buyeo and Goguryeo were centered on the territory of Manchuria but also dominated on The Korean peninsular. The kingdom of Bohai which succeeded Goguryeo and existed from 7th to 10th century shared similar territories as well. The Korean nation centered on the territory of Manchuria and has been living on The Korean peninsular for at least 3000 years now, which shows that the mentioned territory was far from being the history of China.
It is known that the inhabitants of The Korean peninsula during The Neolithic Age came from Siberia, and brought the comb-marked pottery along with them. However, it wasn't that simple. It is difficult to say that Korean nation came from somewhere, it is better to mention that it evolutionally developed from Homo Erectus (Paleolithic Age) to Homo Sapiens and Homo Sapiens Sapiens, Homo Sapiens Sapiens and then to the Neolithic man. The peculiarity of the population of the Bronze Age, is that it has its origins in the Neolithic era.
In the "History of Three Kingdoms(Samguk sagi)" we can find the following excerpt: "The mysterious born of the founders of all three kingdoms appears to be weird". A bear gave birth to Dangun, Jumong - the founder of Goguryeo, Sectalhae and Kim Alchi - the founder of Silla, Kim Suro-wang of Gaya, etc. all were hatched from the eggs.
However, there is no man who believes that his/ her ancestors were someone else but human. In that case, Dangun also wasn't just a spirit, but was a man who was worshiped by a social group at that time.
In all ancient societies people endowed a special man with mysterious characteristics and proved his mysterious abilities to lead. It is similar to a priest who is entrusted by God.
Dangun simply got a spiritual authorization from the god to rule as a sovereign.
