This paper aims to survey on Ju-hong Lee's poems and juvenile rhymes, which had been producted during the Liberation period and the postwar period(1945～1959), and to grasp the characteristics of those. The results so far achieved is as follows.
I could find out 12 pieces of his poems which had been announced in those days. Early in the Liberation period he took the socialism as his political stand and participated in the left literary organization. So most of his poems have ideological tendency with overreaction and excited feelings to the 1945 Liberation of Korea. Only poem <feelings in a prison>(Hambang-um, 檻房吟) represents the active reality of his personal experiences by setting down to his own situation.
I discovered 5 pieces of juvenile rhymes as Ju-hong Lee's in those days. His one rhyme <the song of a little soldier> has a serious defect being overwhelmed by ideological leadership, but his another rhyme <a notice board>(Kwangko-pan) succeeds to works with a sense of humor even if it lacks the critical consciousness. And his rhymes in the late 1950's are new works having the framework of a juvenile story.
