The aims of this paper are to describe land use changing patterns for intra - urban and to assist modeling urban land use forecasting.
This resarch is applied to Taegu in the spatial unit of "Dong" and in a period between 1900 and 1988.
The locational relationships among of land uses. is to derive nine factors by factor analysis. four of them are showed high correlation between several uses, but the others are represented by single or two uses. High correlated factors are named residential expansion factor, industrial location factor, commercial location factor and transportation related factor. The spatial distribution of factor structures is identified from mapping factor scores.
The step - wise regression analysis is applied to explain the factor structure and the land use changing of major uses. There are several problems in factor structure, but high significancy, theoretically and statistically, in land use changing. So this research shows the possibility of urban land use forecasting.
