In this work is investigated the system lingual specific character of loan words in the Russian language which enter into the synonymous relations with native Russian or other loan words. This problem is examined from a lexical stylistic point of view.
Main object of the study is lexical material from "Dictionary of synonyms of Russian" edited by A.P. Evgenyeva (1975).
Material is presented in the form of symbol-number data with Excel electronic tablets which enabled us to receive statistics of characteristics of Russian synonymic system through sorting, characterization, graphics of regression (dependence of characteristics on each other) and so on.
The database of synonyms based on "Dictionary of synonyms" consists of 18,946 words containing 26,315 various LSVs (lexical semantic versions) from 7,323 synonym groups. The database includes 1,747 lexical units with certain characteristics of borrowing words and 1,980 different LSVs. (including 1,056 full borrowing words in the form of 1,230 LSVs and their 691 derivatives with 750 LSVs)
We also used two other subsidiary databases from the Laboratory of general and computer lexicology and lexicography, Department of Philology, MSU. 1,648 (2.780 LSVs) randomly picked words from the Great Academic dictionary were used to provide information about lexics of the Russian language in general.
1) Main hypothesis:
2) Meanings of native Russian and loan words in relatively big synonym groups should be stylistically more differentiated and marked. It can be explained by the fact that most universal meanings in various functional spheres must be covered up with stylistically most developed synonym groups;
3) Meanings of loan words should be marked as special bookish style (rarely used in colloquial sphere) compared to meanings of native Russian words since they (meanings of loan words) are often special terms for certain cultural phenomenon; Among all the loan words old Slavonic words should be considered as borrowings from close relative language.
