The purpose of this study is the interpretation of York-Antwerp Rules(YAR) 2004. The general average loss requires any extraordinary sacrifice or expenditure that are intentionally and reasonably made or incurred the purpose of preserving from peril the property involved in a common maritime adventure for the common safety and mutual benefit. The process of the claim of general average loss and reimbursement, can be explained depending upon the delivery of the cargo.
The change of York-Antwerp Rules(YAR) 2004 can be divided into, the first, the clauses with no change, the second, clauses changing the meaning and using of some words, the third, clauses changing paragraph. We study the clauses of the third case they includes the exclusion of salvage from general average of Rule Ⅵ, the wages and maintenance of the master, officers and crew in the port of loading of Rule ?, the cost of temporary repairs effected at the port of loading, for the purpose of the common safety and mutual benefit of Rule ⅩⅣ, the removal of any allowance of Rule ⅩⅩ, the adoption of the rate of interest of Rule Ⅹ?, the introduction of a time bar for general average adjustment of Rule ⅩⅩⅢ, in York-Antwerp Rules(YAR) 2004.
