As we have already known, Incoterms have been revised in line with the latest changes in prevailing international trade practice and entered into force from Jan. 1, 2000.
Incoterms consisting of a set of 13 international standard trade terms allow not only the parties to name a point/port at which the costs and risks of transport are precisely divided between the seller and the buyer, but also allocate responsibility for export-import clearance/duties between the both parties, and other responsibilities in relation to delivery of the goods.
In our country most of traders have been mainly using FㆍC-terms among the Incoterms. Particularly C-terms are popular and important terms because of cash against documents based on development of international trade-related sectors, for example like as transport, insurance, finance, etc.
As we know, C-terms consist of two group, one for using only when the goods are carried by sea; CFR and CIF, the other for using under any mode of transport; CPT and CIP. But in spite of C-terms features, problems arise from expressions and contents on them in Incoterms 2000, including preamble of each term.
This article presents revising of C-terms in Incoterms 2000 for ICC, research materials for professor in international commercial trade, carefulness and attention in using C-terms in Incoterms 2000, there is little evidence to prove reasonableness of this research.
