The main purpose of this study is to examine Pushkin's poetics of Romanticism in the light of a theory of narratives, and to find out the meaning which the poet offered to the readers in the most romantic poem of his southern exile. An attempt was made to analyze that the poet Pushkin had tried to clarify the difference between the narrator and the observer, and between fast and slow in the narration speed. In this poem the typical dualistic structure of Romanticism is connected with the motif of remembrance and oblivion, and the meaning is extended to the modification of spatial axis of timeless inactivity and eternal truth. Furthermore, it is found out that there is an indescribable charm in the mutually supplemented narratives between dynamic narration and static tranquility in an analysis of Pushkin's literary style.
In the structurally divided sections the poet presents aesthetics of exposure and concealment to the readers which are made up between the observer and the narrator. The variations of distance between them are marked in the description of the surroundings of Zarema, who symbolizes the life in the harem. But it is unified to maximize the effect of narrative aesthetics in the case of Maria's silence. It testifies that Pushkin is a precursor of the age in comparison with the other contemporary writers, whose narrator and observer is identified with the one and the same. It becomes the origin of everlasting life for Pushkin to demolish the stone wall of time and to read his works anew.
