The evaluation on experience quality of festival participation needs to be examined to find out participants’ psychological emotional state and response during the festival in timely manner not afterward when it is over. Moreover it needs to be examined when they are in the state of flow and actively participate in the various events of festival. This study applies experience sampling method(ESM) developed by Csikszentmihalyi that measures the various types of flow experience from participants in the course of festival to analyse the difference between festival experience satisfaction and re-attend intention. The proposed method was evaluated using survey(experience sampling form) data collected through 302 festival participants in the 3rd Namwon Herb Festival held in Namwon city, Jeollabuk-do province. The finding showed a statistically significant difference in festival experience satisfaction and revisit intention according to the types of flow. In other words, this study showed relation between the flow level of festival participants and revisit intention whilst they participated and enjoyed the events, exhibitions and etc. at the festival.
