There are different kinds of methods in coloring process of vehicles. The electro-deposition process has excellent coating performance, it causes deformation of a vehicle"s hood in the processing. The predict the deformation of vehicle’s hood in electro-deposition process, analysis is required about the painting system. The reason the hood of vehicle is deformed in the electro-deposition process is fluid pressure such as paint. Therefore, CFD simulation was used for analyzing the distribution pressure imposed on vehicles in the painting process. In the present study, electro-deposition pool and vehicle’s movement were considered in order to predict the characteristics of pressure distribution of the vehicle"s hood, ASI method and VOF method were used for the movement of the vehicle and interface tracking. The numerical results derived, from the numerical method had a good agreement with the experimental data. The results of present study can be provided as useful information for prevention of deformation in the electro-deposition painting process.
