The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of exercise prescription on metabolic and hormonal responses. The subjects were selected 7 male healthy college students. Specific values for intensity and time were considered and pursed so that there would be a 300Kca1 expenditure after finishing the graded exercise testing. Every subject performed bicycle-ergometer for 40min at 40% VOxnax, for 30min at AT levels, and for ZOmin at 80% VOurax. The blood samples were taken before exerciseing, just after exercising, and after taking 5minutes` and 20minutes` rest, from the antecubital vein. The collected data were analysed by means of a 2-way repeated ANOVA and significance level of p$lt;.05 for rejection of the hypothesis was selected. The main findings of this study were as follow. First, there is no difference in the blood glucose concentration by intents of exercise prescription (intensity X time). but, there is a difference in blood glucose before and after exercise. Second there is no difference in the blood insulin concentration by intents of exercise prescription (intensity X time). but, there is a difference in blood insulin before and after exercise. Third, there is no difference in the concentration of blood cortisol by intents of exercise prescription (intensity X time). Also, there is no difference in blood cortisol before and after exercise. In conclusion exercise enhance metabolic function partially but furtyer study needed to elucidate the exaxt mechanism related to exercise intensity and metabolic substrate and hormone with other one variables.
