Unlike the 18th and 19th centuries, the 20th and early 21st centuries have witnessed a rediscovery and renaissance of Trinitarian theology. One of the major issues animating contemporary discussions of Trinitarin theology is the relation between the immanent Trinity and the economic Trinity. This paper first observes that Jung Young Lee, through a critical conversation with Karl Rahner and Karl Barth, proposes his own unique position regarding the immanent-economic Trinity relation. Due to his theological interest in the pathos of God, Lee is very concerned with Rahner`s rule of identity, pointing out that Rahner` s rule of identity might lack an appropriate distinction between the immanent and the economic Trinity. And Lee also has a critical look at Barth`s position of correspondence, arguing that there might be no guarantee of perfect corresponding relation between them. Thus in order to appropriately maintain both the distinction and the unity between the economic and the immanent Trinity, Lee suggests his own revisionist position, stating "The economic Trinity is in the immanent Trinity and vice versa." Here Lee grounds both the distinction and the unity in the bi-polar mutual inclusiveness of Eum and Yang. Lee arrives at such answer to his theological conundrum through the Eum-Yang way of thinking by studying the Book of Changes. This paper goes further to show through a critical analysis of Lee`s revisionist position that his unique position is ultimately grounded in his theology of change. It includes ontology of change and epistemology of change, which regard the ultimate quality as change. It is also based on his understanding of God as the incomprehensible mystery, which is unknowable and untenable.
