Environmental justice is composed of three dimensions such as substance justice, distributional justice and procedural justice. Substance justice means that everyone has a right to live in the clean environment. Distributional justice embraces the idea that environmental benefits and burdens should be shared equally among social members. Procedural justice emphasized participation of impacted people in decision-making processes. Environmental justice can be approached from various perspectives. However, the purpose of this paper is to examine environmental injustice through researching environmental justice from the view of gender and analyzing the case of waste incineration facilities. Analyzing the case, dioxin that is environmental hormone proved to be more fatal to women. However, women were not considered in selection process for the location of waste incineration facilities and decision phase for compensation. Women also were not considered in official decision-making process such as formation of consultation body to support residents. In order to realize Environmental justice, Gender Impact Assessment of the environment damaged areas should be conducted first then gender impartial alternatives and measure should be taken.
