A Social networking sites (SNSs) are the virtual space where people can express their status and opinions, obtain information, and communicate with others. Meanwhile, there exists a negative prospect that engagement in online social activities via SNSs may adversely impact psychological outcomes among users, as suggested by a new term, ‘Facebook depression.’ This study is intended to investigate how the experiences of relational bullying, victimization and perceived social support through SNSs influence psychological outcomes, and their relationships can differ in terms of a sense of belonging or group identity on SNSs. Relational bullying and victimization were measured by inclusion/exclusion behaviors on SNSs, and depression and life satisfaction were considered as the psychological outcomes. Data from 393 college students were collected by an online survey. Results indicated that the associations of perceived social support and relational bullying with the level of life satisfaction are mediated by group identity, but not with the level of depression. However, there were no mediating effects of group identity on the relationship between relational victimization and psychological outcomes; instead there was a direct effect of relational victimization on depression.
