In this regard, the present study aims to examine the choreological characteristics of the prize winning work of Taekwon gymnastics centered on the movement space of Rudolf Laban, suggest the best quality composition method for Taekwon gymnastics and contribute to the artistic development of Taekwon gymnastics with Taekwon demonstration. This research, based on the spatial aspects of LMA, applying choreological analysis (Laban, 1974), analyzed it through stages such as observation stage, analysis and recording stage, and interpretation stage. As a result, it has been shown that the prize winning work was excellent in spatial features and further in detail, it was expressed in more three dimensional ways properly applying one-dimensional, 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional spaces, and besides, there appeared choreological features of which the movement looked plentiful due to application of peripheral pathway. Finally, it was expressed as dynamic and active that appropriately used various ideas of height such as high level, middle level and low level.
This research conclusion suggests that as making other works of Taekwon gymnasitcs, if characteristics identified in the present study are reflected in and composed along with a choreolgrapher’s planning intention, Taekwon gymnastics with more artistic values will be produced.
