The purpose of this study is to analyze the practical knowledge of pre-service early childhood education teachers through simulated instruction in four categories of practical knowledge. The subjects of this study were 30 pre-service early childhood teachers in their third year at college located in Gyeong-gi area. The data collected over 15 weeks, was gathered by videography, reflective journals of participants, and teaching analysis of participants and researchers. The results are as follows. First, regarding self as a teacher, the participants recognized the importance of teachers`` flexibility and adeptness in the class and understood themselves positively as a teacher. Second, regarding instruction, the participants implemented child-centered simulated instruction in various teaching methods. Third, regarding subject matter and curriculum, the participants could narrow the difference between theory and reality through reflective practice. They recognized that teaching was like unpredictable adventure. Fourth, regarding the milieu of schooling, the participants struggled with the limitations of simulated instruction but became positive agents in cooperative learning with colleagues and professor.
