The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of early rehabilitation exercise after modified Brostrom operation (MBO) on ankle muscle recovery in Chronic ankle instability. A intervention study design was used to assess 22 patient aged 34 to 37 years. Following written, informed consent, 11 MBO patient group (mean age = 37.00 ± 14.37 years; mean wt = 58.73 ± 8.21 kg; mean ht = 166.55 ± 6.50 cm) and 11 Con (non operation) patient group (mean age = 34.55 ± 13.03 years; mean wt = 68.73 ± 9.43 kg; mean ht = 168.73 ± 6.81 cm) completed a battery of test to determine muscle power (ankle eversion and inversion tests were performed concentrically at 60°·80° / sec by use of the Cybex 770; peak torque body weight (%); PT/BW). The subjects were tested in body composition by use of the Inbody 12.0. Results from the early rehabilitation exercise have shown that were significant differences between two groups in 60º/sec (Inversion, p < .01; Eversion, p < .05), 180º/sec (Inversion, p < .01; Eversion, p < .05). In conclusion, the early rehabilitation exercise found in modified Brostrom operation patients suggests that characteristic of modified Brostrom operation or instability atients may be caused by lower muscle power. These data suggest that these muscle power increase, which may positive affect the early recovery and ormal activity.
