William Carlos Williams meditates on budding flowers with delicate beauty and invisible power to penetrate the hard earth. He explains the image as the gentleness harboring all violence in which he thinks he real value of love lies. He knows that there are many negative elements in love, but the love which embodies the image is his wife’s generous and good love, saints’ universal love, and the love as the operational power of the cosmos. Imagination is the power to engender love in our mind even in harsh realities, figuratively, the violence to penetrate the hard earth and make flowering possible. As an unconscious power, it creates the eternal moment free from the ego accompanying the cosmic consciousness and makes us one with the outside world which means the ideal human love connected to the love as the operational power of the cosmos. As we overcome ourselves and harsh realities and we become a flower, love itself, we submit ourselves to God’s rule.
