In recent years the general public has increased interest related to ancient history. On the one hand it is good, but, on the other hand, is a worried thing. Because it is not accepted properly research the history of academia. So it is a very critical one to communicate with the public in the history of academia. Such attempts that scholars communicate with the public in various ways are highly desirable.
Content is exercised enormous influence in the communication with the public. Of course, it is an historical content, as well as being profoundly affect public perceptions of history. Historical content means content include history as a material, or history as a subject. Historical content has been developed rapidly since the 1990s. Historical dramas, historical movie, it started to exert greater influence on the public. However, academics have complained these contents failed to reflect historical facts faithfully. Therefore, it is necessary to find ways to win-win between the content and history.
Historical contents were first derived from the accumulation of historical knowledge. The private sector was leading database of historical documents, subsequently it was pursued state-led projects accumulated knowledge and information. But there were, despite the many achievements, has a lot of limitation in the general public to access. Therefore, content that appeal to the masses began to have a new development. It was carried out to improve and re-processed content services to facilitate the general public to understand.
The goal of history is making the proper historical recognition of the masses by cultivating historical thinking. Among them has the content closely related to the historical imagination. The empty space in the history caused by space of the historical documents that will need to fill in the historical imagination. Content that can contribute to the historical imagination is combined with experimetial content with ICT. Typical technology is virtual reality, augmented reality. It is allows us to reproduce the history of a bygone era could not access, and empathy by expanding the area of human experience.
Such a method is described the concept of meta-bus in the digital world. Metaverse is divided into augmented reality and virtual worlds, mirror world, life logging area. If experimetial these product based on these area, it can implement detail experience of the public about the history of the past, also can enhance the historical thinking. Therefore, academic history should be actively involved in historical content production based on an understanding of ICT technology. In addition, the history academics shall define the criteria by considering the elements needed for historical thinking about criticism of the historical content. Thereby, the academic history reflects the academic achievement in the content, and the content should contribute to enhancing the historical imagination of the public.
