Recently the protestant churches in Korea are in serious crisis out of worship and preaching. Firstly, many Christians in Korean Protestant churches are not enough acquainted with worship, particularly ‘diakonia oriented call to worship’. Secondly, Preaching does not work as ‘viva vox evangelii’, that is, as the living Word of God. Thirdly, many Koreans don’t trust most of the preachers in the protestant churches.
How can we solve the above-mentioned problems of worship and preaching? The answer to this question, which this thesis proposes, is twofold. The first part of the answer is found in the definition of ‘diakonia oriented call to worship’. The second is found in the explanation of ‘diakonia oriented preaching.’ These important concepts create a desirable direction for Korean Protestant Churches in the 21th Century. In conclusion, this thesis insists upon the ‘diakonia oriented church’ as both ‘church for others’ and ‘missional church’.
