This study aims to examine the influences of teachers’ teaching styles of Fisheries & Maritime high school on students` participation in class. For this study, a questionnaire survey of students in Fisheries & Maritime high school in Korea was included as research subjects. The data obtained were analyzed by using correlations analysis and multiple regression analysis. First, based on the result of the correlation analysis, the teacher`s teaching types and student`s participation all contribute positively to the variables. It implies that the class participation of students in Fisheries & Maritime high school affects teaching styles of teachers and learner participation can also be influenced by the types of teaching performed by teacher. Second, according to the multiple regression analysis, the teachers’ teaching styles in Fisheries & Maritime high school partly influence students` participation. The result revealed the diversity teaching styles have a positive effect on participation in emotional classes; diversity teaching styles and individualization teaching styles significantly affect behavioral class participation. It is suggested that the teachers of Fisheries & Maritime high school need to design a meaningful lesson by adopting various teaching methods and lesson preparation that reinforce students’ positive engagement and behavioral class participation.
