This paper was designed to empirically identify the relationship between the usage of end-user computing(EUC) and the return on investment for individual investors. In other words, the purpose of this study was to examine: 1) the differences in the usages of EUC by the individual characteristics(i.e. sex, age, educational level, earnings); 2) the effects of the usage of EUC on the quality of decision-making for the investment and the return on investment for individual investors: and 3) the effects of the decision-making equality of the investment for individual investors. For this purpose, i reviewed the previous research papers of the same area, and then introduced an empirical research model of this study. Data were collected from a mail survey. Three hundred fifty questionnaires were mailed to individual investors, 243 responses were analyzed. The results revealed that : 1) there are difference of usage of EUC according to sex, age, educational level, that is, a male, lower age and higher educational level showed higher usage of EUC; 2) the usage of EUC have positive effects on the quality of decision-making on the investment; 3) this study addresses the positive effects of the usage of EUC on the return on investment for individual investors; 4) the quality of decision-making on the investment positively affects the return on investment for individual investors; and 5) in the additional analysis, the two variables, the usage of EUC and the quality of decision-making on the investment exert a positive influence of the return on investment. Yet the former has more influence on the return on investment than the latter. I suggest that more efforts should be made to make decisions with the help of information acquired from the more aggressive utilization of EUC so as to enhance return on investment.
