This study discusses the discursive constructions of the Lima press in which the indigenous and Black people were presented and represented in the social space of the final period of the Peruvian viceroyalty. In this way, it relates them to the social facts that transcended the discourses in a context of social and political upheaval in which the construction of a greater identity, in this case, that of the Spanish nation presented by the creoles, tried to include and subordinate the social, racial and casta groups that were part of the Hispanic America.
Three documents of this period are analyzed: volume I and II of the newspaper El Peruano (86 documents), published between 1811 and 1812; volume I of the Verdadero Peruano (31 documents), between 1812 and 1813; and the comments of the Peruvian representatives in the Cadiz Courts appeared in the Diaries of the Cadiz Courts from 1810 to 1813.
