Thanks to the South Korea`s sunshine policy, which has reaped rewards in the reconciliation with North Korea, North and South Koreans were reunited with relatives they have not seen since the Korean War (1950-53) in the two Koreas` capitals. The chance of national reunification have risen since the June summit between the leaders of the two Koreas. Furthermore, there have been signs that politics are intervening in the inter-Korean humanitarian project. The resolution of reunions of separated families and the June summit will be a stepping stone in opening the era of genuine inter-Korean reconciliation and cooperation. It`s more important to create of a curriculum for reunion of the peninsula in the new era. Something must be done immediately in order to address the educational gap stemming from the rapidly changing reality. Appropriate education materials should be prepared and trying to ensure our students understand North Korea correctly is needed. To keep up with the pace of improving inter-Korean ties, it`s called for that revolutionary change in unification education to shield students from a state of confusion. Unification curriculum outlines must include the respect for individual ideas and differences , the tolerance for conflicting interests and lifestyles, and understanding of how diverse education systems. Among many kinds of values, the intrinsic value of education is a human enterprise in which many competing values and evaluation standards are embedded. Curriculum is the way to get to these objects and leads to a particular subject that are taught by a school. Physical Education is a subject that intends to build up the whole person and includes affective, social aspects as well as physical aspect through the physical behavior. This study should be more emphasized with the start of the 7th curriculum in North Korea that will be applied to 1st grade in elementary school from 2000 step by step. Therefore, the comparison of the North-South Korea`s curriculum means an understanding of the two heterogeneous social structure. The purpose of this study was to look deep into the North and South Korea`s physical education curriculum. This study, comparison with the two Korea`s physical education curriculum, could plan to deliver new guidelines on unification education keeping pace with the current reconciliatory mood on the Korean peninsula.
