Korean Maritime Law Association have been researched for the revision of Korean Maritime Law over the last two years since 2001. Because there are so many revised international maritime conventions and a little bit conflicts between Korean Maritime Law Provisions and marine environments. This article deals with proposing amendments of maritime provisions as to the Chapter 2 Shipowner, Chapter 5 General Average, Chapter 6 Collision, Chapter 7 Salvage, Chapter 8 Maritime Lien. In Article 748, the Proposal for amendment is to provide any claim for special compensation under article 14 of the International Convention on Salvage 1989. In general average, Article 839, cargo carried on deck will be allowed to be the general average sacrifice. In Article 843, the scope of collision will be extended between inland vessels and indirect collision. In Article 849 and 850, the salvage provision will be applied to the salvage by contracts. And 10 assessment standards are included for the court to assess the salvage amount. Futhermore special compensation system is to be included to the present salvage provision. In Article 861, this article should be revised to remove auction fee of ship in the maritime lien claims.
