The present study purposed to identify factors affecting the transfer of education training at academic departments related to airline cabin crews at colleges and universities in Korea, to examine empirically the relations between the factors and the transfer of field works, to derive and analyze the determinants of the transfer, and ultimately, to develop methods for enhancing the transfer of field works. In addition, we aimed to improve management efficiency from the manager’s position by verifying whether the addition of organizational characteristics in the transfer of education training may increase the performance of transfer in the field works of airlines. The scope of the subjects was limited to in service crews who had experience in education training programs at academic departments related to airline cabin crews with the last two years and graduated from a relevant department at least two month ago. This study simplified factors identified as variables explaining the relation between the components of education training programs and the transfer of education training, so it had limitations in examining various factors comprehensively. Thus, we need to include various variables with adjusting effect and examine whether transfer performance is affected by such variables. Subsequent research needs to develop questionnaires and assessment methods in consideration of differences among schools and among individual cabin crews for measuring airlines’ demands systematically, dividing the opinions of cabin crew trainers, airline executives, and airline employees. If the limitations of this study presented above are overcome, the effectiveness of education training is studied in consideration of in service cabin crews’ job characteristics, and various factors affecting transfer are suggested, we may evaluate education training programs at colleges and universities and transfer performance more substantially.
