After decades of silence, Kuwaiti woman writer Laylā al-Uthmān has had the courage to venture into the world of literature and to establish a noticeable base in the literary arena. Her writings are already reflecting the contemporary ideologies disseminating in Kuwaiti society. Al-Uthmān attempts to show the long hidden aspects that are women's voices, sentiments, hopes, fears, pain and actions. She shows clearly that women have their own sexual desire and they strongly refuse to treated by men as a sex-objects only. She is regarded as one of the pioneers in Feminism literature in Kuwait, Gulf, Arab world. Through the basement which is established by al-Uthmān , the hope for future understanding and harmony between the sexes as reflected in literature is already apparent in the post-invasion writings in Kuwait. This study aimed to show femininity in short stories of al-Uthmān. What for? To come true the hope of all women in the world.
