Key Words : Shihchi, Samguksagi, Personal Pronoun, Simaqian, Kimbusik Sima Qian's ꡔShi chiꡕ (Records of the Historian) and Kim Bu-sik's ꡔSamguksagiꡕ (The History of Three Kingdoms) are considered to be important source materials in several different aspects. Firstly, they provide reliable and comprehensive information for the study of the ancient history and linguistics of China and Korea. In addition, they contain valuable information for the comparative study on the cultural systems of the two countries, especially the usage of first and second personal pronouns which were used in Korea and China for more than 2,000 years in the past. Despite some spatio-temporal differences between the two sources materials, they possess the remarkably similar structure and writing style. Hence some sinologists argue that ꡔSamguksagiꡕ was written in imitation of ꡔShi chiꡕ. This concept of an influential relationship is acceptable to a certain extent. As far as the use of first and second personal pronouns are concerned, these two books share similarities and some differnces. From the perspective of the cultural research on Korea, the use of first and second personal pronouns in those two source materials has important academic implication. Based on these theoretical grounds, this research focuses on the analysis of first and second personal pronouns in ꡔSamguksagiꡕ
