This study aims to inquire into the possibility of human rights education in geography subject. First, after theoretically examining the formation and development process of the concept of human rights, the concept of human rights was divided into three types. Next, the possibility of human rights education in the geography subject was explored, as divided into human rights education through geography and education about geographical human rights. In the human rights education through geography, it is explored that the possibility of human rights education by applying a unique learning method of geography subject. In the education about geographical human rights, it is developed that the rights to environment, the right to housing and the right to the city as the geographical human rights contents, and its relevance to the geography curriculum was examined. Finally, by educating human rights, the geography subject had the effect of meeting the changes of the paradigm of school education, cultivating citizenship for the purpose of geography education, diversifying the source of knowledge of geography education contents. But it was pointed out that the possibility of being absorbed in the integrated social studies.
