In this treatise this author made comparison between 'Policy on Childcare for Day Care Centers in Japan' which corresponds to national level childcare program in Japan with standard childcare curricumlum in Korea. Grounds for such comparison were legal basis of such childcare curriculum, its goals and objectives, field, contents, operation and evaluation policy. As a result of such comparison this author made a number of proposals. First, in the area of classification of age for this curriculum it is necessary to have subdividing classification of ages and integration of contents. Second, in terms of distribution, operation and application of childcare curriculum earliest development and distribution of instructional manuals for teachers and training of teachers on standard childcare curriculum are required. Fourth, more contents on special education should be incorporated specifically. And finally seventh, it is desired to incorporate anti-prejudicial contents in childcare policy for day care centers in Japan.
