The goal of this research is to suggest a competency model and training system of social entrepreneurs based on the competency factors of the AFI framework of management strategy. To accomplish this goal, we reviewed the traits and mindsets of social entrepreneurs, the competency-based model of curriculum development, the theoretical background of the AFI framework of management strategy, and the curriculums for training social entrepreneurs. A competency model from the viewpoint of management strategy and training content according to the level of curriculums was proposed, and we reviewed the teaching method and assessment of the training system. The categories of competencies were divided into ① attitudes about overall management and ② the knowledge and skill required by each step of the management strategy. Knowledge and skill was divided into ②-1 competency for analysis of a business environment, ②-2 competency for the formulation of a management strategy, and ②-3 competency for implementing, performance forecasting, and integrating a management strategy. As a result, four categories and 47 competency factors were suggested. We also designed the educational contents to develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes in accordance with the stages of the curriculum, that is, introductory, intermediate, and advanced. Additionally, special curriculum and training methods to develop each competency category were proposed. An assessment of each curriculum was also included.
