Multicultural Children and adolescents face many difficulties in establishing their identity and adapting to life in Korea as they enter school age. Previous studies have identified environmental factors within and outside the family that affect their adaptation. This study analyzed the direct and indirect relationship between parent-child relationship, multicultural identity, self-esteem, and adaptation of Korean life in multicultural children and adolescents by path analysis. In addition, frequency analysis was conducted to examine the general characteristics of the subjects, and confirmatory factor analysis was performed to confirm the validity of the specific tools. The '2015 National Multicultural Family Survey' data was used and a total of 6,079 multicultural children aged 9-24 years were studied. Based on the results of this study, practical and policy specific suggestions were made in order to improve multicultural childrren and adolescents’ self-esteem and adaptation of life in Korea.
