This study aims to analyze the political strategy of Emperor discourse in Kobayashi comics based on Roland Barthes’ myth analysis model. To accomplish this end, I focused on the comics strategy in Kobayashi comics. The results of the study are as follows. Kobayashi’s comics strategy and the historical revisionist movement have the characteristics of ‘common sense destruction’ and ‘deconstruction’ in common. Based on this, I examined ‘political popularization’ through the emperor discourse in relation to the Kobayashi comics strategy. In the flow of historical revision movement, I analyzed Kobayashi’s comics work ‘Emperor’ through the three concepts of Roland Barthes’ mythical model Emperor criticism, Emperor nationalism, and Historical revisionism. Based on this, his final myth was derived that the emperor must be recognized as a sacrifice king through Constitution amendment. The secret strategy of conservatives to create a beautiful Japan centered on the imperial court was revealed. In addition, this study reveals that Kobayashi’s revisionist movement is related to the claim of conservatism.
